ramblings...

i think i like this again. perhaps?

i am in love with barack obama. he's just amazing. and i'm glad he has claimed the nomination.

i am also in love with the book eat. pray. love. it is really changing the way i look at life, and has influenced many important decisions i've been making in my life lately. they are big ones too. just how she writes gets to me and there is so many life lessons she learned that i really need to hear. i'm sure other people agree with me.

i think i want to be a missionary. pastor jeff is always right with me, and this one he hit the nail right on the head--it's absolutely insane. there are some programs through the united methodist church that i'm going to apply for next year--so meaning i will participate in 2009. one is just in the us and the other is half in us, half abroad. i like the second one better. they are like 3 years long. i'm excited.

hmm. camp starts soon. i really hope i get the position i want. i'm pretty much going to beg to be waterfront director when i talk to her on the phone tomorrow. i feel like i'm qualified. i don't want to be a counselor again. i hope she understands it's not because i would be working along side of my boy.

i have to have an important conversation this week with someone. it could go really well or be really disastrous. i hope for the first one. please pray for me, if you read this and if you pray.

my spiritual life is much better these days. i've been praying lots, and i feel like God is really giving me answers...i think this has been one of the first times i've actually felt so sure of God being here in my life. it's incredible to see him working in my own life. i could go on for days.

i'm 21 now. and i'm a senior in college. holy shit, my life is going quicker than i can keep up with. oh well. let's just say me and my friends no longer go out to starbucks. or the diner. we go out and grab a drink. i'm not so sure i like this...

i've been living well with help from jon foreman (the lead singer of switchfoot, who I HELD HANDS WITH AT THE CONCERT)'s song Your Love is Strong off his SPRING EP. which is amazing. it's pretty much the lord's prayer with redone lyrics in an amazing song.

however, i leave you with some lyrics from his band's song, stars:

"stars looking at a planet watching entropy and pain, and maybe start to wonder how the chaos in my life could pass as sane. i've been thinking about the meaning of resistance of a hope beyond my own and suddently the infinite and penitent begin to look like home" -switchfoot, "stars"

keep the faith.

"it is only when we risk life together precisely with those who are not like us, not our kind of people, that we discover who we ourselves are and what it means to be human beings created in the image of the Creator who chose to be with and for us creatures, and created us for community with others who are different from us"

when i'm sick, i can't work out because it hurts my breathing.

and i was running before i got sick. that makes me sad.

antibiotics! heck yes!

in case one couldn't tell by the title, i am sick, and am on drugs. yay for antibiotics that work better than otc meds. yay, hooray! minus the part that involved sitting at the family care center for 3 hours for him to hardly explain what was wrong (i had to look at the chart!). so, it's acute sinusitis/bronchitis. yuck. there was a fever involved a few days ago and that sucked. royally. i'm feeling better today, still really tired. so off to bed!

peace.

i'm stuck inside this rut i fell into by mistake...

wow. what an interesting past 2 months. i suppose a lot has happened. good? not so sure. exciting? yes.

i definitely feel like the song "be my escape" by relient k--see song lyric in title. my spiritual life sucks right now, which makes me sad. i definitely look back on january, and i think that's what was missing. i was really blah, so with the start of the new semester, i'm trying to do a few things:
  1. run or skate 6 days a week.
  2. eat healthier.
  3. pray more often
  4. read my bible
  5. be nicer to people
  6. try to be as positive as possible
  7. give 100% to everything i do
okay. i think that's all. that could change, but i would really like to lose the weight i put on over interim. i think it's a good list.

i'm taking archeology, and totally feel like indiana jones. it's pretty sweet.

my skating teams competed last weekend, and wow. what an experience sectionals was from a coach's perspective. i really wish i could skate on a competitive team again someday...even if it's adult. i would love to skate on a senior team...but we shall see.

i'm not playing lacrosse. skating has overtaken my free time, which i'm happy about. all these kiddies want to compete and have lessons with me :) which makes me smile. i've decided i want to work with kids. in what way? don't know yet. trying to figure that out. definitely want to coach.

camp is going to be open this summer, and i'm way excited. it's my home.

peace.

rebuild?

i am hungry. why is that, you may ask? i am not sure. it is currently 4:45 AM and i am awake. i'm not sure i like this hour of the morning. i have to go to the aeroport. :) yay for going home again. i still feel like there is schoolwork i should be doing. like, without schoolwork, i'm feeling a little lost. oh well. i will miss organic chemistry. i know i'm a nerd, but i did really well in that class, and i loved it. i get to take the second half next semester but sadly, not with the same professor. he's going on sabbatical. i'm sleepy, and i think that i will sleep for a long time on the plane, perhaps. i have an exciting weekend ahead. i get to go with my lovely boyfriend back to his seminary, and go to a christmas party and then we are going to a wedding on saturday! i found a dress, which is shocking cuz i usually suck at finding things to wear. it's really cute.

have i told you how much i love switchfoot? they are great guys. i want to be friends with them. ok. i have to go finish packing and cleaning.

keep the faith.

finals are loooooming

holy crap. i have a final tomorrow...yikes. i don't like sociology. not one bit.

i had the best talk with my boyfriend tonight about my future. it was well needed. all i want to do is make a difference in a child's life, but i don't want to be a teacher. a skating coach? we shall see.

i must finish working. but this was calling for a post.

keep the faith.
